There is nothing quite like the Downieville Classic Mountain Bike Race and Festival …

The 26.5 mile XC route starts along the Yuba River in Sierra City, climbs 3,000 ft to the Sierra Crest, then descends 5,200 ft and doesn’t let up until riders cross the finish line in the historic gold rush town of Downieville. For those racing both days there is not much time to rest because the downhill takes place the next day and consists of a 15 mile, 5,000 ft vertical drop, from Packer Saddle back into town.

In the All Mountain category riders race both days on the same bike—the ultimate test for an all-mountain rider.
